Magazine Cover Styles!

Cover types:
1. Early magazine covers- always have drawing on them never photo's, they were very simple drawings they have moral themes to them, they often had a religious theme to them. They are pretty simple and boring.

2. The poster covers- It covers the whole thing and has very small set of words on there. The picture tend to be more visually appealing. The disadvantage is the picture covers can be boring. Its hard to know whats in the magazine based on the picture. if you don't have a good picture people aren't gonna pick up your magazine.

3. Pictures married to type- The picture go together and match the theme, they compliment each other( words and the picture).tells you whats going on in the photo and tells you what is going on in the magazine. Tells about to people on the cover they always go together. Some disadvantages are they could find this magazine boring, less point of entry means less buyers. Boring colors and boring picture aren't the best. it should be visually appealing. Need good color.

4.In the forest of words- There is a lot of words on the cover, like the words are bold and non bold words, they are very colorful, and have different fonts along with different sizes. We see lots of text on the picture that covers up the picture.Lots of points of entry or entry points, the means to get you to pay lots of money for the magazine. the text over laps and covers up the photo that could be a negative you lose impact of your picture. Sometimes there is to much stuff going on.

Stuff every magazine cover has- The title of the magazine, along with some sort of art or picture, a date, and a bar code.
